Day 1: Hanoi Arrival
In the morning, you’ll receive cordial welcome upon arrival at Noi Bai airport at and transfer to city center. In the afternoon, we take a half day tour visiting the mystical Lake of Restored Sword and the Old Quarter of 36 guild streets from a rickshaw ride. The Old Quarter is a series of 36 ancient streets where peddlers still trade the way they have done for centuries. The rickshaw tour ends up at Ma May Old House, an example of dwellings in the 19 century.
Day 2: Hanoi – Sapa – Cat Cat Village (L)
After breakfast at hotel, we’ll transfer by car to Sapa. It’s take about 5-6 hours by highway to reach Sapa. En route, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful scenery on the both sides of this road. Arrive Sapa around noon, lunch will be served at local restaurant. After checking-in hotel and having short rest, you’ll pay a visit to Cat Cat Village, village of ethnic Hmong – discovered by the French who chose to use the area as a resort in the early twentieth century. Coming to Cat Cat Village, visitors will be visiting hydropower station, waterfall of the Cat Cat village, and learn about the culture, customs and unique people here with traditional crafts such as weaving, carved silver, forged agricultural tools, to drag his wife... Back to Sapa for the night.
Day 3: Sapa – Lao Chai – Ta Van – Heaven Gate (L)
After breakfast, we’ll trek along a meandering path through the villages of Lao Chai and Ta Van of the Black Hmong and Day people. Home visits are included to discover local life. Enjoy a picnic lunch in a village on the trek route then return to town. Take a moderate climb up the Ham Rong Mount for a great view of Vietnam’s highest mountain range, Fanxipan, filled with terraced rice paddies and deep valleys. There’s also a chance to enjoy a show by ethnic minority artists. On the way back to Sapa, you stop at Heaven Gate to take great view down to the valley at moment of sunset.
Day 4: Sapa – Bac Ha Colorful Market – Lao Cai – Hanoi (L)
Morning transfer from Sapa to Bac Ha passing the beautiful mountainous road. We’ll have ample time to explore the most colorful market in Northwest of Vietnam where you can meet about 10 different ethnic minorities, the place that people attend not only for trading but for rice-wine drinking, social communication, making friends… In the afternoon continue to trek through some Tay villages and rainforest to visit Thai Giang Pho – the village of Flower Hmong people that you met on the market. You will learn about their daily life, say hello to local children and enjoy the nice view along the trail. Around 3PM, get on bus to go back to Hanoi with two comfort breaks. Say good be to you at your hotel.
NOTE: Bac Ha Market is only available in Sunday morning. Itinerary can be changed into Coc Ly Market (on Tuesday), Can Cau Market (on Saturday) or visiting tribal village in Sapa.
Day 5: Hanoi – Departure
You’ll be picked up and transferred to the airport for the departure flight.
